This is a special device to enhance the level of security of citizens and merchants during the Christmas time. This operation will take place in all commercial areas open to the public at this time. The Councilor of Public Safety, Alberto del Hierro, explains: "This is the second year that our region offers this safety device at Christmas time, days of crowded streets and busy shopping. This operation will see working together on joint patrols of the Catalan Regional Police Force and Local Police. " The Councilman also said "the operation of normal security remains intact, and added a Christmas device, an amount effective for existing."   From Iron stressed the need to "spoil especially" in the commercial business district in recent months out of season "The methodology of the work of police patrols is based on proximity, for permanent contact between the police, merchants and citizens" .
