The International Skill Shepherd Dogs of Prades will be on 2nd August

Prades. Costa Dorada. The small town of Prades, half an hour from Salou, ready to live on 2nd August of 2009 the XXII edition of International Skill Shepherd Dogs. The contest will begin at 11 am at the old football field, located at Avenida Verge de l'Abellera. Prior to 9 am will be held a breakfast for shepherder. The winner is the participant who managed to shepherd his dog perform the various tests in the shortest possible time, giving only verbal instructions or sounds, from a podium just a few meters away from the specific location of the test. In this way it is the dog's obedience and his skill. The dogs must perform three tests: the first and simplest is to complete a circuit, the second is that the dog lead a flock of sheep by a circuit, and the third test, the dog must shepherd the flock from getting into a closed and then should get the sheep out. All this provided with the shepherder leading the dog to complete these tests in the time marked. The jury, consisting of veterinarians and organizers of similar from different countries, penalized if the dog bites the sheep. Besides the shepherd participant must submit the contest wearing clothes of their own place of origin. All dogs must have their documentation, which is scrupulously reviewed by the veterinary surgeon responsible for each edition of the competition. This contest of Prades is part of a pathway similar tests being done in various towns in the mountains and in the Pyrenees both inside and outside of Catalonia, like the País Vasco, Navarra and Andorra.
