El Vendrell celebrates Saint George taking culture to the streets



El Vendrell. Costa Dorada. The Saint George´s day in El Vendrell will have activities that will highlight the cultural and literary environment that will be experienced throughout the day in the capital of Baix Penedès paradesde through traditional book sales to each establishment. This year, there has been a change of space and place of Joe Jai Plaza, the event will take place at New Square, which will be the hub of these activities, with the awards ceremony of St. George's Literary Contest XXXVIII . This contest rewards the work made by students of different schools of Vendrell around a common area proposed by the Jury. Participated in the competition this year a total of 602 schoolchildren from El Vendrell, who have submitted their written under the theme "Forests and biodiversity." The awards presentation event will take place at half past six in the afternoon, as every year, the winners of the contest will receive a prize as a set of books. The exhibition will run until 30 August. Finally, in the events surrounding the Saint George's Day, Sunday 25 April will be held at a dance sardanas in Rambla og El Vendrell.
