Closing ceremony of the Year loved on seven municipalities of the Costa Dorada and Terres de l'Ebre



Costa Dorada and Terres de l'Ebre. On 17 January, at 12.30 hours, seven municipalities in the province of Tarragona and Terres de l'Ebre organize events for the closing of the Year Amades. Participants are: Falset, Constantí, Ascó, L´Aldea, Solivella, Banyeres del Penedès and Guiamets. The unitary event, jointly organized by the Center for Popular catalan Culture and Traditional (CPCPTC) and l'Associació Cultural Joan Amades will consist of reading the manifesto for the End of the Year in 2009 and Amades lofty memorial of balloons with the logo . The closing will take part in any activity linked to the popular and traditional culture that the municipalities have planned for this day. A total of 40 towns throughout Catalonia participate in this initiative. In parallel with these activities, on January 15 will be a memorial ceremony at the Palace of the Generalitat of Catalonia, where the vice president of the Government of Catalonia, Josep Lluis Carod-Rovira, the Minister of Culture and Media Communication, Joan Manuel Tresserras; CPCPTC director Ramon Fontdevila, and will close the ceremony the anthropologist Manuel Delgado, with a conference on Joan Amades gesturing. To mark the fiftieth anniversary of the death of John Amades, the most prolific Catalan folklorist, Joan Amades Cultural Association promoted the celebration of a year dedicated to the scholar of popular culture with the aim of releasing his work and claiming it as a one of the leading figures of Catalan cultural scene. Other activities to celebrate To achieve this, the Cultural Association Joan Amades proposed a mechanism of participation in this initiative groups, organizations, federations, organizations, media and people sensitive to the motion and the figure of Joan Amades. This involvement has materialized in various ways, through the organization of commemorative events or with the inclusion of this commemoration in the usual cultural programs. The year 2009 has been Amades 1035 accessions, of which 564 correspond to entities (city halls, museums, libraries and associations in popular culture) and in 471 individuals. 207 commemorative events were also organized, including exhibitions Memory of the Village People and popular imagery. The collection of printed image archive Joan Amades. The first exhibition is traveling all year around Catalonia and contents can be downloaded on the website of the Year Amades. The second show produced by CPCPTC, exposed on 8 July to 27 September at the Palau Moja in Barcelona. The publishing and book now CPCPTC have jointly released the book catalog of the exhibition Images of the People. The volume, edited by Josep Mañà and Ramon Vilar, includes the following contents: a chronology of Joan Amades; a compilation of texts of the exhibition, and a miscellany of articles Francesc Fontbona, Louis-Busquets, Immaculada Socias, Jan Grau, Francisco de Asis Lopez, Jaume Pujagut, Josep Crivillé, Gloria Ballús, Ramon Vilar, José Antonio and Antoni Anguela. The book is on sale since last November. Have also been reissues of his works: Library of Popular Traditions (43 volumes); woodcuts Latin America (2 volumes) The Hundred Best Songs of Christmas, The Best Hundred catalan popular fables, the best legends and The Nativity. Were also released two CDs: The Fables of Joan Amades (Albert Estrengre explained by Carles Alcoy) and traditional songs collected by Joan Amades (played by Paton Soler).
