Salou. Costa Dorada. The mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, accompanied by the Councillor for the Environment, Montserrat Porter and Councillor for Urbanism, Marc Montagut, has hoisted the Blue Flags for the beaches of Levante and priests as well as flags for the Q Levante and Poniente beaches. The Playa de Levante beach and the platja de Capellans already have the blue flags. Specifically, the Playa de Levante has this certification since 1990 without interruption. Meanwhile, the beach has certified platge Capellans since 1997 with an interruption for the last two years of work on environmental grounds Way Round. The marina will also renews with this flag has since 1996. The Blue Flag is awarded annually to a distinguished FEE (Foundation for Environmental Education "). It is a distinction European Environmental Education on the beaches and ports that meet a range of environmental conditions and installation. Among other things, this certification assesses the degree of environmental education and information, water quality, environmental management, security services. Added to this recognition, the beaches of East and West have the Q for Tourism Quality Certification given by the Spanish Institute for Quality Tourism (ICTE), private certification created specifically for the development of the tourism sector. This certification is submitted by the Secretariat General of Tourism responsible for promoting the brand and who reports directly to the Ministry of Industry, Tourism and Commerce. In total, across the state, 176 beaches have been certified with the Q for Quality and 24 in Catalonia. Specifically, are the only Salou in the province of Tarragona.   The Mayor explained that "imply a recognition management certifications that we are carrying out environmental and guarantees the quality of our facilities." In this sense, also stressed that "efforts to provide the best quality at our beaches for our citizens and visitors are guaranteed with this new certification positions us as a benchmark of quality."
