The Tourist Board seduce the English people at a tourist fair in London

El turisme britànic constitueix un pilar important de la temporada...

Salou. Costa Dorada. 14 November 2018.
Tourists from the United Kingdom are an important part of the employment of the summer season of Salou. Aware of this, all entities of the municipality applaud the initiative to go to London to participate in the World Travel Market, to try to seduce and offer the benefits of the Costa Daurada. The World Travel Market was opened this week in the British capital and where it has been at the stand of Catalonia in the corner of the Tourism Board of the Tarragona-Costa Dorada Provincial Council. The Mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, and the Councilor for Tourism, Benet Presas, together with the Managing Director of the Tourism Board, Juan Carlos Capilla, have held several meetings with British and Irish TTOO in the framework of the fair, the world's largest annual event dedicated to the tourism sector where more than 5,000 exhibitors from 185 countries converge and where you have spent more than 51,000 professionals.
According to the mayor of Salou, "the British market is the first foreign market in importance for Salou, and Salou continues to be the first destination for the Irish market." He added that "these days we have found that in the different institutional meetings and at the same time with all the leading tourist agents in the British and Irish market that operate at our destination such as; Jet2holidays, TUI, Barrhead Travel, Cassidy Travel ... there are some good expectations for next year, "he pointed out.
Thus, according to the data of the Tourist Observatory with regard to the behavior of this year of British tourism, there have been some increases (up to September 30) of 9.58%, while in the case of Irish tourism, The increase suffered has exceeded 18%.
For his part, Benet Presas pointed out that "the English market is important for the destination of Salou and that is why it is our presence at fairs, and our promotion actions through marketing and communication programs." For the councilor, the main goals for the 2019 promotion in relation to this market are "at least maintaining the high season volumes and at the same time boosting the arrival of more customers to mid-low and low seasons (golfers, over fithty, etc.) of reducing tourist seasonality ".
Another effect that has been observed at the fair refers to the slight increase in the planning of flights to the airport of Reus - a trend that has been repeated in recent years - together with a positive assessment of the Costa Daurada destination central by the operators. In spite of everything, he plans the question of how Brexit will affect the behavior of the British and Irish market for a possible increase in rates.
